Seshadri Srinivasan’s designed Bandra Worli Sea Link also known as Rajiv Gandhi sea link of Mumbai is an Architectural Marvel & let me tell you some interesting things about it-

This is the most-loved bridge of Mumbai which weighs almost equal to the weight of 56,000 African Elephants. 90,000 tons of cement was used to build this masterpiece. This bridge is a Cable-stayed bridge and if we put all the steel cables together  then the length of these steel cables would probably be as long as the circumference of the Earth. Isn’t it mind-blowing! It took almost 10 years to build this bridge.

The bridge or sea link’s construction started in 2000 and this eight lane bridge completed in 2010 after four lanes being opened to public use in 2009. This 5.6 KM architectural marvel is a savior for Mumbaikars which reduces commutation time between Worli and Bandra from 80-90 minutes to under 10 minutes. Construction of the sea link was done by aced groups from India including 10 other countries, Egypt, China, Canada, Britain, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Serbia, Thailand and Switzerland.

We recommend you, whenever you visit Mumbai, definitely visit this Marvelous place.
